This beautiful academic study of male nude is currently running on eBay France. It is by the famous French artist Charles Cousin (1807-1887). It is signed and dates from 1867. I love the way Cousin has treated the light and the way it falls on the model from the upper right. Really a beautiful example of 19th century academic painting skills. I am certain the bidding will get well into the thousands of euros.
Addendum (2/28/2013): Well the hammer fell and the end bid on this painting was 2.049,00 Euros (US $2,681.93)...
