Dahesh Museum of Art: Salon Thursdays - Fall 2012

*
I have to apologize for the lack of posts lately. I have been dealing with some losses and personal health problems. For the past week I have had an inflammation attack in the joints of both hands and it has been painful just to lift a glass of water much less type at the computer. With the help of some strong anti-inflammatory medication I have gained some use of my hands. I was sitting at the breakfast table this morning when I noticed a postcard in a stack of mail. I am a great fan of the Dahesh Museum (www.daheshmuseum.org). They have preserved a great many 19th century academic works and are proponents of the modern day revival of 19th century methods of teaching drawing. I scanned the postcard for those of you who are near New York City and have the time to drop by to see these scheduled events. There aren't many things in that great city that are free so these events are well worth the visit. I would love to attend that December 6th event: "Making their Mark: Drawings by Academic Artists in the Nineteenth Century."
