F. Kogelmann: Academic Male Nude - December 1881

This morning I managed to pick up this nicely executed Academic Male Nude on one of the European eBay sites. Unfortunately, I have been unable to find any biographic information on the artist. Still, it is a nice drawing of a well proportioned and handsome male model. I am encouraged to see that the old requirement of head at the top and feet at the bottom requirement of executing the full page nude is still followed today as it was in 1881. None of this full figure in the center of the paper stuff some students try to get away with. My drawing instructor said that if he saw paddles for feet and hands he would stand on the drawing and make us do it again. ------------------------------------------------- Caption: Male Nude Artist: F.
