I picked up a nice example of a student drawing from plaster casts last night for a few euros. It is by German artist Kurd Albrecht (1884-1964). If you look closely you can see where the artist changed certain parts of each drawing based upon more accurate sight-size measurements he had taken during the initial layin of the outline drawing. Plaster casts were used in the initial drawing training of students and the teaching of sight-size drawing techniques.
