Last night I made an offer to the seller in France on three of the Melina Daviau (1874-1961) drawings and he accepted the offer, so the three nudes posted below will be coming into my collection shortly. Daviau was a French designer, landscape, and portrait artist. He exhibited at the Salon des Artists Francais, Paris, in 1906. He was a pupil of Luc-Olivier Merson (1804-1889) who taught at the Academie des Beaux-arts and was most famous for his postage stamp and currency designs. Merson also has stained glass windows he designed here in the United states.
