Being a painter myself I am always on the lookout for beautiful examples of portrait painting. Of course this is not a nude, however, it is a beautiful example of a 19th century trained hand and eye. Adolf Schmidlin (1868-1954) was a well known German painter who specialized in the portrait. There is nothing I love better than a well executed portrait and what can compare to this beautiful portrait of a little girl? The drawing, color palette, and application of paint to canvas is superb. I wanted to post this little gem separately to keep it from getting lost in the crowd.
