The two 18th century intaglio prints arrived from Germany this week. I am really impressed with the quality of the engravings, which appear to be printed on a nice quality rag linen paper. I have to wonder if these prints were made for the collector market of the 18th century and not for use of art students. You just can't get that kind of handmade quality in paper now. The inking is excellent, crisp and detailed. The engraving itself is precise and detailed. What a great work of art for not a lot of peso's. Enjoy.
