Self-portrait of the Artist 1925
Not surprisingly another batch of early academic Nude drawings by Josef Jungwirth (1869-1950) popped up on eBay Austria but from a different source than the previous drawing I purchased. This time it was a series of three drawings. I had high hopes of taking all three but during the last hour of the bidding the bidding suddenly went through the roof. I had to really concentrate my resources on one drawing and took the drawing below with highest bid. I also did a search on Jungwirth’s other works and apparently he was also a master of watercolors and of course oils. Enjoy.
